Odyssey is synonymous with the word suffering as it reflects the difficult journey of the Greek demigod Odysseus. Known for his cunning, resourcefulness, and strategic thinking. Odysseus was the brain behind the infamous Trojan horse and was the Champion of Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom and battle strategy. After leaving his wife, riches, and newborn son at home, Odysseus suffered 10 long years in the Trojan war and another year sailing through unfriendly seas to get back home. Unfortunately his patron Goddess delivers a prophecy to him that his crew shall kill the golden cows of the Sun Titan Helios and cause him to suffer 9 more treacherous years at sea facing trials like Sirens the monster Scilla and the Obsession of the immortal Calypso. Fortunately, Odysseus and his crew find respite on the fruitful island of the famous and beautiful but lonely and infertile sorceress Circe. They fall in love and spend the winter frolicking and living an idle life. Odysseus must, however, return to sea in the spring to continue his journey home to his family.
