Virtual activism is often referred to as ‘slacktivism’ (a portmanteau of ‘slacker’ and ‘activism’). This type of online dissent relies on users’ desire to make a change without engaging with substantial, tangible measures to do so, through ‘feel-good’ measures such as liking posts for causes, signing online petitions, or changing one’s profile picture to a certain colour.

For the purpose of this debate, a labour cloud is a term used to represent the virtualisation of work or labour. This involves the creation of a digitally organised workspace for workers to usually work and provide services from home or wherever they are located. Workers are paid using the same scale of payment used to pay traditional employees but the only jobs that are made available on the labour cloud are jobs that can be done remotely. Eg. Typing and Graphics design.
The source of labour on the labour cloud can be either within or outside the Country within which the company that owns the cloud is based.

For the purposes of this debate, the current climate action advocacy is the proposition of the adoption of green technology and the cutting down of emissions by production hubs as the way to solve the looming climate crisis. The Public Universities Bill seeks to harmonize the finances, administration and governance structure of public universities in Ghana and bring them under the control of the Government. The Bill, when passed will give the Government of Ghana (ie. the President) the power to appoint the majority of members of the University Council, name who becomes the Chancellor and also select who becomes the chairperson of the University Council.
